A PLANE load of England fans, having suffered the defeat in Bloemfontein, were humiliated by the Germany team at the airport. The German charter plane taking the squad back to Johannesburg was grounded by technical problems. So a scheduled South African Airways flight was commandeered, even though its booked passengers, including a Sky Sports crew, were at the boarding gate with their luggage loaded.
They had to wait three hours for another flight and were then told to sit at the back of the plane to balance the light load due to their suitcases having flown off with the Germans -- along with England's place in the last 16.
